Goal

Carry out an evaluation World Vision Germany’s Improving Learning and Reading Environment (ILRE) project that was carried out in Cankuzo Province, Burundi from October 2015 to September 2018. The project aimed to improve students’ learning achievements and their access to quality education in a child-friendly learning environment. The evaluation aimed to investigate the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of both the community-based and school-based programming.


Activities

Informed designed and carried out a mixed-methods evaluation that included a project document review, secondary data review of provincial education data, key informant interviews with project staff, a parent survey, focus group discussions of ministry officials, SMC members and parents, a pupil literacy assessment, a school survey, and a classroom lesson observation.
